O-Hanami by Traditions in Japan
We are proud to present “O-Hanami by Traditions in Japan“
The hanami literally means “flower viewing” and o-hanami is with honorary prefix, is the traditional Japanese custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers, mainly cherry blossom (sakura). Beginning in late March or early April, sakura come into full bloom everywhere in Japan. Today, the hanami often to enjoy this season picnic, talk, sing under the cherry blossom.
The theme of our day is flowers in spring.
We are proud to present our artist Noriko Tajima who practice the art of Chiyogami-kiri-e.
The Chiyogami-e-kiri in Japan, is the art of paper cutting, which is called “Kiri-e (literally: cut image). The technique Dame Tajima is made from Chiyogami paper. This paper is also used for the Japanese folding technique called “Origami”.
The Chiyogami-kiri-e is a technique of cutting with great precision the details of the work and then overlaying each of the elements together to create the final image.
Noriko Tajima has made several works to show us the beautiful flowers of Japan.
His works will be presented April 17, 2010 from 9:30 until 16:00.
We also present the designer Yoshimi Azuma.She created kimono and every day clothing with old kimono. She recycles old kimono to give the flavor of the day.
She also uses Furoshiki for the manufacture of clothing.
We will present a mini fashion show from 13:30.
